Sarn Oliver is a multifaceted artist whose creative journey harmonizes the worlds of music and visual art. Born into a musically gifted family in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1964, Sarn's early exposure to music profoundly shaped his artistic vision. With a mother who was a pianist and a father who was a composer and university professor, creativity and expression were part of his DNA.

At the age of 15, Sarn entered Juilliard, where he swiftly earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees. His exceptional talent as a violinist led him to California in 1985, where he became a key figure in the Sacramento Symphony and later the concertmaster of the Santa Cruz Symphony. By 1991, his path had led him to the San Francisco Symphony, where he continues to play as a member of the first violin section today.

But Sarn’s artistry extends far beyond the concert stage. His abstract paintings are deeply influenced by his musical background, each brushstroke echoing the rhythms and emotions of his compositions. For Sarn, painting is more than a visual endeavor; it’s a cathartic process that intertwines with his music, serving as both personal therapy and a means of exploring the abstract connections between sound and sight. Through his art, Sarn continues to push the boundaries of creative expression, blending the auditory and the visual into a singular, immersive experience.
